Whitstable and Seasalter Golf Club

Whitstable & Seasalter Golf Club is a 9 hole links course situated at the end of Collingwood Road, Whitstable. The club was founded in 1911 and has just celebrated its centenary year. Visitors are welcome and can be assured a pleasant time both on the challenging course and in the friendly clubhouse.

Situated right by the beach, and lined with quaintly picturesque beach huts, this 9-hole course features some testing shots up in the far corner and provides the magic combination of a challenging course and a friendly clubhouse.

As a links course with few natural hazards, the course might seem simple enough at first glance, but be sure to adjust your game for the strong and varying winds that come as part and parcel of any seaside course. With an absence of obvious hazards it can be hard to judge the strength required for your approach shot, which makes the course more challenging than it first appears, so be sure to take your time. There is little run on the drive owing to the springy nature of the turf except in the very driest weather during the summer months, so accuracy may prove more important than length.

A warm welcome and some great food means it’s always worth stopping in for a meal and a pint after you’re done playing. And for those sticking around a little longer, membership is open and the club hosts social events throughout the year. The club has a great ladies section playing on a Tuesday morning, with social golf on Thursday afternoons. The Old Salts provide a strong part of the club with membership for gentlemen aged 60 and above, playing on Thursday mornings. Finally, the club provides social golf on Tuesday evenings from 4PM, which is a great opportunity to stop by and introduce yourself and grab a bite to eat afterwards.
